GF/D grade glass microfiber prefilters, like other glass microfiber filtering options, are designed thick to offer high loading capacities. They also offer increased flow rate and filtering speed relative to other filtering materials of similar particle retention rates. These properties make GF/D prefilters ideal for air filtration and for gravimetric analysis of volatile materials when ignition is involved.
They are generally recommended for fluid flow and high particle loading capacity situations and can provide good protection for finely retentive membranes. GF/D prefilters can be combined with similarly sized GF/B filters to provide even better, and more efficient prefilter protection for such membranes.
These circular prefilter papers are 150 mm in diameter.
